Something about the contrast of the shell and overall shape got my attention. It seemed like it would render well. Having an empty sea as a background was a bit odd though. The turtle just seems to be floating. Line drawing with stippling seemed the natural way to proceed with the contrast of the shell and the puzzle-piece composition.
