In late February, Margo Hayes broke down a global barrier in the climbing world. The long and short of it is quite simple: she is the first female to climb a consensus confirmed 5.15a sport route, the toughest of the grade for a woman climber. As I write this post, this new has already spread far and wide, and seems to have encouraged a bit of a talking point in what is generally a male-dominated sport. One of those talking points: guess what, women can and DO climb just as hard as their male counterparts. Women crush, plain and simple. After seeing the 1:11m teaser video of the project, I’m beyond stoked to see that she is the cover athlete for the upcoming Reel Rock 12 due to be released in November.
